Unbroken with Raymond Lauchengco (A Modern Take On The Art Of Kintsugi) | Live Zoom Class - Feb 5 | Saturday | 2-5pm

“If it is true that art mirrors life, then I think that kintsugi could be a reflection of what it means to be human: how we all get pounded every now and then, how we all break, how we all have to pick up our broken pieces and deal with them so that we might find a way to be whole again.”

Raymond Lauchengco’s take on the centuries-old art of kintsugi blends the philosophy of the ages with modern techniques. Using accessible materials to mend broken ceramic pieces, this three-hour, live and interactive Zoom workshop is designed to be a calming and therapeutic exercise you can enjoy for years to come.

In this workshop you will:
- mend and paint two (2) ceramic pieces using modern techniques inspired by kintsugi; and receive one original Japanese ceramic piece from House of Stonewares
- learn which materials, tools, and techniques to use to pursue the hobby
- spend a relaxing afternoon with like-minded individuals
- have access to post-workshop support via an online FB group moderated by Raymond

Kits are provided with all tools and materials needed for the class. No additional preparation is needed aside from a hammer and a cup of water for rinsing your brush.
